Transition Words

What an important lesson! Transition words... the kids will be using these for the rest of their lives! It's our jobs as primary teachers to give them a good base foundation on grammar and functional sentences. I have thoroughly enjoyed using Pinterest as a teacher tool for my RILE project and in my placement. I probably would have never thought to use Pinterest to discover classroom ideas if it wasn't for this project! So many great activities to be explored :) I pinned a few ideas for teaching transition words. I found a few to be very useful! Especially the traffic light chart with so many choices of transition words for beginning, middle and ending. How about this for introducing transition words to the class? Perfect!

Kind of like this as an alternative to a paper...just for something different.:

Now they can make their own...

Thanks Pinterest for everything, this will be my last post for my project!

Happy Holidays!

Hey ya'll, long time no post.

Happy holidays! It's the most wonderful time of the year. 2 days until Christmas. I can't believe it's come so quick, as it seems to do every year. So after Christmas comes the new year, which can serve as a fresh start to everyone. I think this is a perfect time to set goals and really think about what you'd like to accomplish in the coming year. It's also important for our students to understand that they can also do this. So on Pinterest I re-pinned some great reflective activities the students can do on the first week back after the holidays. What amazing ideas. It gives the kids a chance to reflect, set goals and hopefully take action!
